Finding the right support can feel overwhelming, especially at the beginning of your journey. We’ve created this page to share organizations, programs, and services throughout Connecticut that have been meaningful to our family or are trusted by families throughout Connecticut. Whether you’re looking for advocacy, educational support, therapies, recreational opportunities, or other services, we hope this guide helps connect individuals with special needs and their families with the support they need.

This resource guide will continue to grow as we discover additional organizations, programs, and opportunities that may benefit individuals with special needs and their families throughout Connecticut.

Advocacy & Family Support

Whether you're just beginning your journey or looking for additional guidance, these organizations provide advocacy, education, support, and resources to help individuals with special needs and their families navigate services, build connections, and find the support they need.

PATH

Providing advocacy, education, support, and resources for individuals with

disabilities, special healthcare needs and their families.

PATH provides one-on-one family support, advocacy, educational resources, workshops, and guidance to help families navigate healthcare, special education, community services, and state and community resources throughout Connecticut.  Their team connects families with the information, services, and support they need at every stage of their journey.

Specialized Medical & Clinical Services

These organizations provide specialized evaluations, medical care, therapies, and clincal services for individuals with developmental disabilities, autism and other complex needs.

Hospital for Special Care - Autism Center

Comprehensive autism services, therapies, and specialized care for children and adolescents.

The Hospital for Special Care Autism Center provides comprehensive autism services through a multidisciplinary team. Their programs include diagnostic evaluations, occupational, physical, and speech therapy, behavioral health services, outpatient care, intensive inpatient treatment, and a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), all designed to support individuals with autism and their families.

Yale Child Study Center

Comprehensive evaluation, treatment, and support for children and families.

The Yale Child Study Center provides expert evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment for children with developmental, behavioral, emotional, and learning differences. Their multidisciplinary team works with families to better understand a child’s unique needs and connects them with evidence-based care, resources, and support.

Growing Hope & Kindness

Compassionate counseling, play therapy, and emotional support for children.

Growing Hope & Kindness provides professional counseling services in a warm and supportive environment. They offers individual counseling, play therapy, family support, and evidence-based approaches to help children and adolescents navigate life’s challenges while promoting emotional well-being, resilience, and personal growth.

Every individual learns and grows in their own way.  These organizations provide therapy, educational programs, and developmental support to help build skills, confidence, and independence.

Guided by Goats

Providing ABA therapy, learning opportunities, and inclusive farm experiences for children and families.

Guided by Goats provides Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) services in a unique setting that encourages learning through meaningful experiences. In addition they offer inclusive farm play, social opportunities and hands on interactions with animals that help children build confidence, develop new skills, and create meaningful connections in a supportive enviroment.
